Bandar Seri Begawan – Muhammad Afiq Bin Abdul Rahman, 21, a Bruneian student currently pursuing his studies at the University College London, United Kingdom, has proudly earned the Silver Honour in the prestigious International Astronomy and Astrophysics Competition (IAAC) 2025, placing him among the top young scientific minds globally.
According to IAAC, out of approximately 12,300 participants from across the globe, Afiq’s performance ranked in the top 7% overall, and within the top 25% of Final Round qualifiers, scoring an impressive 17 points in the Final Round Exam. This achievement reflects his exceptional grasp of astronomy concepts and his analytical competence in tackling complex astronomy and astrophysics problems.
