Please Note: This registration form is only for AstroCamp camping participants to reserve the campsite held during the Total Lunar Eclipse event. All other activities – including astronomy talks, stargazing, and eclipse viewing – are free and open to the public with no registration required. We look forward to welcoming you under Brunei’s starry skies!

Welcome to our Total Lunar Eclipse Camping Experience! To ensure a safe, enjoyable, and respectful night under the stars, all camping participants are kindly asked to read and agree to the following terms:

Personal Responsibility

By participating in this event, you agree to assume full responsibility for your own health and safety throughout the duration of the camp. The organiser and volunteers will do their best to provide a safe environment, but cannot guarantee your safety at all times. Please remain aware of your surroundings and take necessary precautions, especially in the forest and dark sky settings.

Registration & Attendance

  • Camping space is limited and must be reserved in advance via our official registration page.
  • Each registrant must provide accurate contact details for coordination and safety purposes.
  • Walk-ins may be permitted only if space allows, but priority is given to registered participants.

Site Conduct & Safety

  • This is a family-friendly and fire-free event. Open flames, smoking, alcohol and loud music are strictly prohibited.
  • Participants must follow all instructions from event coordinators and PABD volunteers.
  • Please respect the natural environment – no littering, no damage to flora or fauna.
  • Red Light Usage: To protect night vision and enhance the stargazing experience, we encourage for only red lights are permitted during observation/stargazing hours. Please avoid using white flashlights, phone screens, or headlamps unless absolutely necessary. We encourage participants to bring red LED torches or cover white lights with red cellophane. Event astronomy volunteers may assist in adjusting lighting if needed.

Equipment & Personal Belongings

  • You are welcome to bring your own telescopes, binoculars, and cameras.
  • PABD and organizing bodies are not responsible for loss or damage to personal items.
  • Please ensure your equipment does not obstruct pathways or viewing areas.

Camping Guidelines

  • Bring your own tent, mat, or reclining chair and other essentials (prayer mat or sejadah, mosquito/insect repellent, food and drink, etc).
  • No large structures or generators allowed.
  • Check in and tent setup begins at 4.00 p.m.
  • Quiet hours begin at 11:00 PM to preserve the serenity of the site.
  • Please help us keep the camping ground clean and beautiful by clearing your campsite before departure.
  • All trash must be packed out at your own disposal or disposed of in designated bins.
  • Leave no trace – ensure the area is as pristine as you found it, for the next stargazer to enjoy.
  • Campers must vacate the site by 8:00 AM the following morning (on Sep 08, 2025)

Weather & Cancellation

  • The event is weather-dependent. In case of heavy rain or unsafe conditions, updates will be posted on our website and social media.
  • No compensation will be provided for cancellations due to weather.
  • Always check the weather forecast on Brunei Meteorology Department or other weather application.

Media & Consent

  • By attending, you consent to photography and videography for outreach and documentation purposes.
  • Share your stargazing moments on your preferred social media platform using #BruneiAstronomy and @bruneiastronomy (tag on FB and IG). Let’s light up the digital sky with your photos, reflections, and family memories under the stars!
  • Show Us Your Eclipse Shot! Capture Eclipse Moments on BruneiAstronomy digital platforms – your photo or video could be featured, share via https://bruneiastronomy.org/contribute/

  • This event embraces Bruneian heritage of dark sky site and astronomy. Please be mindful of cultural sensitivities and help foster a welcoming atmosphere for all.
