The Lyrid Meteor Shower is usually active between April 16 and 25 every year. At its peak, observers may see up to 18 bright meteors per hour, often leaving fast, glowing trails.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Named after constellation Lyra (where the meteors radiated from), the Lyrids are one of the oldest recorded meteor showers &#8211; according to some historical Chinese texts, the shower was seen over 2,500 years ago. The fireballs in the meteor shower are created by debris from comet C\/1861 G1 (Thatcher), which takes about 415 years to orbit around the Sun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Get ready for a night of \u201cDark Skies and Falling Stars.\u201d Let\u2019s all hope for clear skies in April as we celebrate the beauty of the night sky together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity is-style-dots\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-vivid-cyan-blue-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-24c255f6ebafcc14d211b4af8876a841\">Look Up!
