Note: Generated times are based on astronomical formula as well as your location. For official prayer times (Waktu Sembahyang), please consult the relevant religious authority.

Prayer times are determined using precise astronomical algorithms that incorporate your geographical coordinates (latitude, longitude, and elevation), the calendar date, and the chosen calculation method. The application computes the sun’s position relative to the horizon, applying specific angular values for prayers such as Subuh and Isyak. For other times like Zuhur and Asar, calculations are based on solar noon—when the sun reaches its zenith—and the proportional length of shadows.

To calculate Sunrise and Sunset (Maghrib), a standard astronomical correction of -0.833° is applied to the sun’s altitude. This adjustment accounts for atmospheric refraction and the sun’s semi-diameter (its apparent angular radius). Additionally, elevation plays a role: the higher the observer’s location, the earlier the sun becomes visible at dawn and the later it sets in the evening. This elevation effect is incorporated using an approximation formula: 0.0347 × √(elevation) which refines the sun’s angle at the horizon for more accurate timing.
