This is the most comprehensive lunar crescent (hilal), also known as " anak bulan ", visibility predictions Brunei Darussalam spanning 1,237 lunations from the year 2000 to 2099 (corresponding to Hijrah year 1420 to 1523). It is based on complex astronomical calculations which provides detailed information on projected dates when the hilal (lunar crescent) is first expected to be seen from Brunei’s skies (Alt > 1°). Each lunation includes prediction on the new crescent’s visibility probability, V, developed by Mohammad Shawkat Odeh (2005). The neo-MABIMS visibility criteria (Alt ≥ 3°, Elong ≥6.4°) is also indicated by Y (satisfies) and N (does not meet).

Lunation begins in 2000; Dates of First Visibility in Gregorian and Hijrah; Moon Phase; Local Sunset and Moonset in Brunei time; Constellation where the Moon sets; Sightability is the duration of lunar crescent remains above the horizon after sunset; Difference of Moon-Sun Longitude; Moon age after conjunction at sunset; Moon altitude at sunset; dAz - Difference of Sun and Moon azimuth; Sun-Moon elongation; Moon distance from the observer in km; Semidiameter in degree; and sighting predictions. All parameters are calculated based on location for Bandar Seri Begawan

By default, first visibility dates and hilal parameters are generated for the current year. For other dates using Hijrah Year or Lunation, first click "Clear", enter in the input boxes and click "Generate". The next observation date from today is highlighted in yellow row.

Whether you’re tracking Islamic months, planning Hilal observation events, or simply curious about the youngest moon in our skies, this timetable serves as a valuable tool for enthusiasts, astronomers, and decision-makers.

Note: All dates are based on scientific modeling and do not replace official moon sighting declarations by government authorities.
